The program focuses on overcoming weaknesses in a child's social skill development. Children are often rejected by their peers due to impulsive or aggressive style of interactions along with general difficulty in playing by the rules. They often experience frustration, feelings of inadequacy, helplessness over the lack of good coping skills, loneliness, and depression due to isolation from their peer group. The Social Skills Enhancement Group for Children will focus on the following essential social skills:
There are three Social Skills Enhancement Groups designed for children ages 5 to 7, 8 to 11, and 12 to 15.
Initial MeetingTo register your child for the Social Skills Enhancement Group, a half hour interview is required. This first meeting will be to discuss your child's history and any concerns you and your child may be experiencing.
