Social Skills Enhancement Group for Children

The program focuses on overcoming weaknesses in a child's social skill development. Children are often rejected by their peers due to impulsive or aggressive style of interactions along with general difficulty in playing by the rules. They often experience frustration, feelings of inadequacy, helplessness over the lack of good coping skills, loneliness, and depression due to isolation from their peer group. The Social Skills Enhancement Group for Children will focus on the following essential social skills:

  • Develop listening skills
  • Increase compliance with rules, instructions, and requests
  • Increase ability to interact with peers
  • Learning to work as part of a group
  • Improving self-esteem
  • Improve basic social graces
  • Recognize others feelings
