Natalie Petyk holds a Masters degree from the American School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University. Her experience as a psychotherapist includes individual and group counseling with children and adolescents in educational settings and in the foster care system. She is currently an associate staff member at Bloomingdale Psychological Services, as well as a kindergarten teacher.

As a therapist, Natalie's areas of clinical expertise focus upon school related issues, divorced and blended families, children's developing self-esteem/self-concept, and parent-child and peer conflicts. She conducts ongoing age-related group therapy for Children of Divorce, a support group to help children understand and cope with their families in transition. Both individual and family therapy offer treatment for symptoms related to ADHD, oppositional behavior, depression, anxiety, stressors of the adolescent life phase, and changes within a family system. With a focus upon openly exploring emotions, defining goals, and examining relationships, clients learn to develop effective skills in coping, decision making, articulating feelings, communicating and utilizing appropriate social skills.

Additionally, Ms. Petyk provides individual assessment through psychological testing, report writing, and treatment formulations. She has experience administering IQ tests, projective personality tests, and behavioral inventories. Data from the assessments informs treatment planning and generates a comprehensive representation of a client's presenting problems.

Natalie Petyk is a member of the American Psychotherapy Association and the American Counseling Association.
